PA State Inspection in Marietta

Same-day appointments for cars, trucks, and trailers. We do the inspection by the book — and if something fails, we tell you straight.

Why drivers in Lancaster County choose Dyer's

An inspection you can actually trust.

We see it all the time: drivers who got told they need $1,200 of "required" work to pass inspection at another shop. Bring it to us first. We'll give you a straight read — if it passes, it passes. If it doesn't, we'll show you exactly why and what it'll cost to make right.

FAQs

How long does a PA state inspection take?+

Most passenger vehicles are in and out in 45 minutes to an hour. Trailers are typically faster. If we find something that needs repair, we'll call you with a clear estimate before doing any work.

What do I need to bring?+

Your current registration and proof of insurance. That's it. If you renewed online, bring the printed registration card — we need a hard copy on file.

When is my inspection due?+

Check the sticker on your windshield — the month is shown on the left, year on the right. Pennsylvania requires inspection every 12 months. We recommend scheduling a couple of weeks before it expires so you have buffer if a repair is needed.

What if my vehicle fails?+

We'll explain exactly what failed and what it'll cost to fix. You're never under any obligation to repair it here — but if you do, the re-inspection is free.

Do you inspect trailers?+

Yes. We inspect utility trailers and heavy trailers, which most local shops don't handle. Call ahead so we can have the right bay open for you.

Do you do emissions testing too?+

Yes. Lancaster County requires both safety and emissions inspection annually for most vehicles. We perform both in the same visit.
